The Importance of Studio Design

The Importance of Studio Design

There are so many reasons why quality studio design matters. It not only enhances the customer experience and influences shopping behavior, but also optimizes the physical space, among other benefits. For us, however, design goes beyond functionality—it's a key element of our differentiation, a core component of our brand DNA, and an integral part of our brand strategy. Design enables us to create memorable experiences that make people feel good. As the old saying goes, “People will forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”

We use intentional studio design as part of our overall strategy to evoke those memorable, positive feelings for our members and guests. We want to create connection with human senses.

As a franchise business, we don’t believe in “cookie-cutter” design. There is a reason why our studios don’t feel like a medspa, nor like some other massage brands that offer facials. We don’t believe in the “franchising” notion that all locations must exactly look the same. We believe that each studio should possess a character that ties not just to the overreaching brand, but also to the area or region where the studio is located. Our studio design is meant to be “playful” and beautiful, yet strategic to maximize four-wall profitability. And we understand it will continue to evolve.

Let’s take a look at our latest studio design in Phoenix, AZ. At 1,320 sq.ft., it is maximized for efficiency to drive a high revenue per sq.ft, while also keeping the buildout cost substantially lower than most wellness and medspa franchises out there. We hope you will like it as much as we do!

The Shop:

  • We prefer a smaller, cozier feel that encourages conversation and makes it easy for the members and guests to browse our amazing skincare retail

  • Seating is meant to match the style but feel comfortable— not like a sterile doctor’s office

  • The goal is to eliminate non-revenue producing square footage

  • Front desk is a “design piece” that meets function

Privacy Wall:

  • Playful texture ads character and depth

  • Hides the “magic” that happens behind it

The Hallway:

  • Meant to set the tone and feeling of calm, beauty, and warmth

  • The lighting, colors, textures bring it all together

Treatment Rooms:

  • Clean, simple lines to minimize distractions

  • Modern cabinetry hides most of the tools our estheticians need during facials

  • Light curtain creates little bit more privacy, yet keeps the open concept vibe

Restroom:

  • We like it playful and welcoming!

  • Matches the style with clean lines + wall design ads character

Design is beautiful and personal. Our goal is to strike a balance between the two and provide a vibe that is gender neutral, inviting, beautiful— and for everyone. Stay tuned for our studio design evolution as we continue to grow.
